New Year’s Celebrations at the Mandir

We are planning an informal celebration at Shanthi Mandir

at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2006 to celebrate the

New Year. We will have students of Hema Srinivasan’s

shloka class recite several shlokas including prayers to

Goddess Lakshmi (the New Year being an auspicious time for

business ventures). We will also have devotional singing and

bhajans following the prayers.

If you or any of your family  members/friends would like

to sing or lead the prayers, please let Hema (445-2854) or

Kalai Kumar (445-9579)  know of your interest. As

co organizers of the celebration, they can accommodate

you in the program.

Prasad distribution will follow the devotional component

of the celebration. We expect to wind down the celebration

by 4:00 p.m. Please join us with your family and friends for

this auspicious event
