Bal Sabha has had a tradition of a bike ride and picnic to Rocheport for several years. This year, the kids of Bal Sabha wonder if they are old and strong enough to complete the whole trip, to Rocheport and back.
The Samuhika Satyanarayana Puja, a yearly devotional community prayer service, was held at the Shanthi Mandir on August 4th, 2012. Fourteen families performed the Puja, while several other families attended the Puja and partook in the spiritual and social aspects of the devotional celebration.
This summer, Shanthi Mandir hosted several classes on cooking, astronomy, and quilting. Meant for children, teenagers, and adults, the classes aimed to give our community some new skills – whether that was teaching pre-college teens to cook more than pasta, or showing keen hobbyists how to start sewing a handmade masterpiece.
