Raagas of Columbia presents Indian Classical Music

An evening of Indian Classical Music featuring

at Shanthi Mandir

Lavanya Narayanan started learning vocal Carnatic music at a young age of 4 from
Smt. Lakshmi Varanasi of Indianapolis. She is currently under the tutelage of Sri.
O.S.Thyagarajan in Chennai. Lavanya has given many concerts in Chennai, performing
regularly in Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams and Vasantha Mandapam in Chennai’s
Margazhi festival and in many venues across US, including a short but sweet debut at our
own HTCC banquet five years ago! Lavanya is a senior at Indiana University majoring
in Nutrition Science and Biochemistry.

Shiva Sankalp has given many concerts all over US and in India both as a solo violinist
and as an accompanist. He is a student of renowned violinist Padmasri Kanyakumari.
Dr. Prasad is an accomplished artist in Flute, Tabla and Mridhangam and has given
many concerts on all three instruments.
