The HTCC Service Programs Committee along with Bal Sabha and Bal Puja youth undertook the annual service project Sharing the Warmth to help out fellow Columbians by arranging for donation of winter clothing and related accessories. They collected and donated adult and youth items to the Refugee Services of Columbia, MO which assists refugee and non-refugee immigrants and children’s items to CoMoCares which assists parents with small children. Both organizations are non-profits which provide the Columbia community with excellent social service.
The youth team collected, sorted, cleaned and donated winter jackets, gloves, caps, winter shoes, socks, and blankets from the Mandir community and their friends as a part of Sharing the Warmth project. The youth along with other adult helpers met at the Mandir on Friday, November 22 and on Saturday, November 23, 2013 to get the clothes sorted for donation.
