Aditya Hrudayam is a praise of Suryabhagavan, the eternal Light and influence to the world. This stotra is found in the 107th canto of Ramayana written by Valmiki Maharshi. This highly popular and powerful stotra is introduced by Agastya Maharshi to Rama at a point when he became dull and oppressed by the challenge of defeating Ravana. Agastya was the “seer” and Rama was the “sadhaka” and the mantra “devata” is Surya. A regular recitation of this hymn results in success, health and other positive outcomes.
